Tattoo Removal

Do you feel that a tattoo no longer suits you at all?

Are you no longer happy with your tattoo? In that case, a tattoo can really get in your way. Fortunately, it is now possible to remove a tattoo safely. With our advanced laser treatment, we at Atelier Pax can remove a tattoo without damaging the skin.

Although the laser is very advanced, it is not always possible to remove a tattoo 100%. The result always depends on the type of tattoo and the color of the tattoo. The number of treatments needed also varies. A colorful tattoo often requires more treatments. Of course, we will discuss the options with you thoroughly beforehand.

  • Dark, heavily applied tattoos require an average of 6 to 14 treatments.
  • Colored tattoos require more treatments.
  • Cover-ups usually require only 4 to 6 treatments.

Tattoo removal is not painless. However, anesthesia is not necessary: the pain is usually easy to tolerate. Many people compare the pain to getting a tattoo. Others describe it as the feeling of an elastic band snapping against the skin. During the treatment, the skin first turns white. After half an hour, the tattoo will be visible again as usual.

Later, the skin becomes red and warm, and some scabs and blisters may appear. The result of the laser treatment is only clearly visible after 10 to 20 days. That is why we always leave enough time between two laser treatments.

How does the treatment work?

The laser produces a very narrow beam of light, allowing us to work with great precision. The laser pulse heats the ink particles in the tattoo, causing them to break down into small particles. The lymphatic system then allows them to leave the body naturally.

Tips

On the day of the treatment and in the days after, it is best to drink extra water so your body can properly remove waste products.

For up to two weeks after the treatment, we advise against using a tanning bed or sunbathing, unless you properly cover the treated area. After these two weeks, you can apply a high sunblock to the tattoo, with at least SPF 30. You should also avoid visiting a sauna for up to two weeks after the treatment.
